December 25, 2010 journal, what has Christmas come to trusting in Santa Claus world. From my Christian friend Greg "While I do not believe Christ was born December 25th nor did he ever tell anyone to celebrate his birthday, I at the same time clearly recognize a very real and growing campaign to erase the name of Christ from the minds of men in any and all areas. For this reason I say "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" "T'was the month before Christmas-When all through our land, Not a Christian was praying, Nor taking a stand. See the PC Police had taken away. The reason for Christmas -no one could say. The children were told by their schools not to sing. About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things. It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say. December 25th is just a ' Holiday '. Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit. Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it! CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-Pod. Something was changing, something quite odd! Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa. In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda. As Targets were hanging their trees upside down. At Lowe's the word Christmas - was nowhere to be found. At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears. You won't hear the word Christmas. Christmas; it won't touch your ears. Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty. Are words that were used to intimidate me. Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton! At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter. To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter. And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith. Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace. The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded. The reason for the season, stopped before it started. So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'. Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me. Choose your words carefully, choose what you say. Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday! Please, all Christians join together and wish everyone you meet a MERRY CHRISTMAS-Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mas Season!" Precious wisdom- "Someone has written these beautiful words. One must read & seek to understand the deep meanings in them. They are similar to the Ten Commandments to help in daily living. 1-Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble; it is a "steering wheel" that directs us in the correct path throughout life. 2-Do you know why a car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the rear view mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on. 3-Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write. 4-All things in life are temporary. If going well enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong don't worry, they can't last long either. 5-Old friends are like Gold! New friends are Diamonds! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a base of Gold! 6-Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end! 7-When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities. 8-A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision." 9-When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them; and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you. 10-Worrying does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES; it takes away today's PEACE. "Safety Alert! Here are some reasons why we don't allow cell phones in operating areas, propylene oxide handling and storage area, propane, gas and diesel refueling areas. The Shell Oil Company recently issued a warning after three incidents in which mobile phones (cell phones) ignited fumes during fueling operations In the first case, the phone was placed on the car's trunk lid during fueling; it rang and the ensuing fire destroyed the car and the gasoline pump.. In the second, an individual suffered severe burns to their face when fumes ignited as they answered a call while refueling their car! And in the third, an individual suffered burns to the thigh and groin as fumes ignited when the phone, which was in their pocket, rang while they were fueling their car. You should know that: Mobile Phones can ignite fuel or fumes Mobile phones that light up when switched on or when ! they ring release enough energy to provide a spark for ignition Mobile phones should not be used in filling stations, or when fueling lawn mowers, boat, etc. Mobile phones should not be used, or should be turned off, around other materials that generate flammable or explosive fumes or dust, (I.e., solvents, chemicals, gases, grain dust, etc...) TO sum it up, here are the Four Rules for Safe Refueling: 1) Turn off engine 2) Don't smoke 3) Don't use your cell phone - leave it inside the vehicle or turn it off 4) Don't re-enter your vehicle during fueling. Bob Renkes of Petroleum Equipment Institute is working on a campaign to try and make people aware of fires as a result of 'static electricity' at gas pumps. His company has researched 150 cases of these fires. His results were very surprising: 1) Out of 150 cases, almost all of them were women. 2) Almost all cases involved the person getting back in their vehicle while the nozzle was still pumping gas. When finished, they went back to pull the nozzle out and the fire started, as a result of static. 3) Most had on rubber-soled shoes. 4) Most men never get back in their vehicle until completely finished. This is why they are seldom involved in these types of fires. 5) Don't ever use cell phones when pumping gas 6) It is the vapors that come out of the gas that cause the fire, when connected with static charges. 7) There were 29 fires where the vehicle was re-entered and the nozzle was touched during refueling from a variety of makes and models. Some resul! ted in extensive damage to the vehicle, to the station, and to the customer. 8) Seventeen fires occurred before, during or immediately after the gas cap was removed and before fueling began. Mr. Renkes stresses to NEVER get back into your vehicle while filling it with gas. If you absolutely HAVE to get in your vehicle while the gas is pumping, make sure you get out, close the door TOUCHING THE METAL, before you ever pull the nozzle out. This way the static from your body will be discharged before you ever remove the nozzle. As I mentioned earlier, The Petroleum Equipment Institute, along with several other companies now, are really trying to make the public aware of this danger. I ask you to please send this information to ALL your family & friends, especially those who have kids in the car with them while pumping gas. If this were to happen to them, they may not be able to get the children out in time. Thanks for passing this along.
